Benjamin M. Woolston
Ben’s research in the Balskus Lab focuses on understanding metabolic interactions between commensal and pathogenic members of the vaginal microbiome that underlie community stability and dynamics of the transitions between healthy and dysbiotic states. More broadly, he is interested in elucidating and controlling microbial metabolism for sustainable chemical production (e.g. biofuels) and human health.
